Frequently asked questions

At Quirky Creations NZ, we're passionate about creating unique, handcrafted crochet loveys and baby blankets, accompanied by stunning New Zealand landscape photography. Here are some of the questions we get asked most often.

What are the shipping costs?

All Quirky Creations are shipped within New Zealand ONLY Standard shipping for crocheted items is a flat rate of $20, with an additional $5 for rural deliveries. This cost covers postage as well as the supplies used for secure packaging.

Shipping for photography prints is a flat rate of 30, with an additional $5 for rural deliveries. This cost covers all supplies needed to make sure these beautiful prints arrive safely to their destination.

Please Note: There is one product listed as an "add-on" - this is for the custom embroidery of a letter on the bobble. It can only be purchased alongside a lovey order and does not incur extra shipping. 

Do you offer local pick up or drop off options?

Yes! Local pick up is available in Methven, Ashburton area

What are your payment options?

You can pay for your Quirky Creations using:

  • Credit or debit card
  • Bank Transfer
  • Pay on pickup

 

 

What are the QC tags made out of and why are they on each Quirky Creation?

My earlier Quirky Creations (Original Loveys & Stardust blanket) feature QC tags made from vegan-friendly faux leather, while my newest creations now carry QC tags made from soft Polycotton blend. These new tags are created in Fielding, New Zealand and are individually hand sewn onto each piece. The tags are safe, durable, and gentle for little ones while adding a signature finish. The location where the labels are from tie Quirky Creations NZ back to the Manawatu, where I spent most of my childhood. 

They're included on every on every Quirky Creation as a mark of authenticity - your guarantee that each piece is handmade with care and truly one a kind.  

Are there special care instructions for a Quirky Creation crocheted product?

Yes - each Quirky Creation is handmade with care, and to keep it looking its best we recommend following these simple care instructions:

 

Washing:

  • Handwash or machine wash in the mesh bag provided, cold gentle / wool cycle.
  • Wash with the same mild detergent you use for baby's clothes.
  • Gently SQUEEZE out excess water- AVOID WRINGING OR TWISTING. - {only follow this step if there is excess water.}
  • NO BLEACHING OR IRONING. 

Drying

Each crochet creation has its own preferred drying method depending on the yarn used - this will be marked on the product tag attached.

  • Tumble Dry Safe:
    • Dry on low heat until just damp. Reshape and lay flat to finish drying.

 

  • Not Tumble Dry Safe:
    • Lay flat to dry on a towel or air dryer, reshaping while damp.

 

Each piece has been gently blocked to help it keep its shape.

After washing, a little reshaping may be all that's needed.
